Mindfulness is being aware of your present moment.
All through the day we work on auto pilot. We wake up - look into our phone screen - read a few emails and texts - get out of bed - brush our teeth and the list goes on. We even eat our food on auto pilot.
Where as mindfulness insists on being aware of each and every moment we have in a days time. Simple art of mindfulness as explained by the Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh is keeping a check on your breath. Beginner's can start by practicing breathing mindfully. To start with, when you feel stressed or depressed get conscious of your breath for sometime. Bring it into practice and see the difference.
Mindfulness is not easy, it takes a lot of practice and patience. But once you learn the art it is life changing. You learn smaller aspects of life and know how important it is to be mindful of our thoughts, words and actions.
Keep learning mindfully!
